Hi, so...this is my universe call-out for the PERFECT person to step forward and talk to me...I want a publishing partner!

I've always wanted someone to work with a business partner, someone on the same 'page' as me and now this is literally what I'm asking for...but of course, not in the traditional sense, this is not your typical job opportunity...but an opportunity to get truly involved, from the ground up...ready? Here's my rampage of what I want...​

"I want to speak to someone who gets excited about getting books into the hands of readers, someone who understands that indie publishing isn't lesser-than - it's intentional. I want to speak to someone who knows the in's and out's of Ingram, Nielsen and Gardners. I want someone who's walked into independent bookshops and knows what makes a buyer say yes, someone who can see a wall of women's anthologies in Waterstones and knows exactly how to make that happen.

 

I'd love to work alongside someone who lights up at the thought of regional festivals and library networks, who understands trade distribution as the bridge between our books and women who needs to read it!

I want to speak to someone who can help these beautiful books to travel wider, further and deeper into the hearts of women who don't yet know they exist!

​

This will require someone who respects the sacredness of women's stories, who sees them as I do, as legacies, as delicately woven and precious pieces of wisdom to be soaked in by another.  I want someone who understands the publishing of women's words and stories as a movement, someone to become a partner in this rich forcefield of intention with me and our authors. You would get to know our authors too, speak to them and celebrate them with me.

This would be the perfect place for someone feeling the pull of what we're creating and wants to step into it, not just work alongside it. I want to speak to someone who is energised - completely lit up - by the thought of amplifying women's voices and getting these books out into the world where they belong...someone who wants to work differently.

 

Someone who has done the 'conventional' and knows in their bones that they want to shift their skills and knowledge sideways. You'll be someone who would be excited about flying to Bali to meet Kim and the children at Bali Street Mums with me (the charity we support) to witness where the funds from these books actually go, to dance with the kids with me to YouTube pop videos and hold their hands as they take you proudly into their bedrooms to see the one and only book they own (that will happen - if they like you!) And they will, because you'll be someone who cares as much as Kim and I do.

I want to speak to someone who's excited about publishing and loving the sound of these words, someone with expertise and know-how and someone who sees this as 'inspired purpose'.

​

Working like this means there are no rigid structures, no exhausting hours, no difficult people to manage, just ease and flow, alignment and knowing this is actually a great way to spend our time.

​
